Greg is Home!!

We survived the week...barely!! Keira has chosen sharpie marker and gluestick as her new lipglosses of choice.

Kade's soccer team lost - again.......that makes 8 in a row. He was sooooooo bummed after the game....he played harder than he's played all season. He was so confident they were going to win today. During family prayer time last night he prayed, "God please let us just win one game" - I think he was expecting the win to be today but obviously God has another plan. As our friend Clint said, the boys are being given a lesson in humility. Try explaining that one to a 7 year old!!

Anyway, back to Greg. The trip was amazing....God had been paving the way for this way before we even knew it was going to happen. Looking back it is so evident! When I asked Greg to sum it up in one word he said, "humanity"......profound, huh........

Well more stories later - Have a fabulous weekend!

Idiot and Klutz

Well - what a day!!! And it's only noon!

Went to work this morning only to find out Santa Paula schools aren't in because of Columbus Day.........can you say idiot? I only worked last Monday so I'm using that as my excuse for not knowing! Yep, uh-huh, that's it.

Now the klutz part.......i go to pick Keira up from school.......she's tired so I'm holding her........and then I trip! It was like a slow motion nightmare - I'm trying to regain balance but know that I'm not and trying to make sure I get her head covered so it doesn't hit the groud.............which thank God it didn't.........so there we lay on the ground....she's crying and scared, her knee and elbow are bleeding, my pants are ripped, i'm bleeding........but here's my big kicker....at least 2 people were standing right nearby and neither of them came over to see if we were okay....finally a different lady walked over and offered up a baby wipe.......what really kinda ticks me on this is that it is a Christian pre-school......guess I should've been hoping for a Samaritan to cross my path..........okay don't take that as sacriledge..not meant to be.........what it is meant to be is a kick in the butt - PUT YOUR FAITH INTO ACTION PEOPLE!! LET'S DO WHAT JESUS WOULD DO!!

anyway we're home now and all cleaned up and I'm not going anywhere else today!

Misson Picture

It was really cool for the kids to be able to see this picture of Greg today. Kade has had some anxiety about the safety of his daddy so this pic was a God-send for him!

And for me it was nice to see my honey!!

    Things I Love Today

    1. Awake Shaken Black Iced Tea with one shot of sweetener from Starbucks! I'll be bummed when they pull it off the menu for the winter.....maybe I can convince my local barista to keep it on just for me.

    2. Having a friend that owns a drycleaning shop. Nice when they can remind you "You know those things you dropped off three weeks ago? You might want to come pick them up."

    3. My Serfas sunglasses - great way to hide tired eyes

    4. Five Cheese and Tomato pizza from California Pizza Kitchen...YUM!

    5. The way Kade has decided it is actually cool to say I Love You to his mom!!!!!!!

    Proud Moments

Just a quick note tonight - talked to Greg this afternoon.......

He's overwhelmed with all they're seeing in New Orleans. Today they helped a man tear down his home, Greg said the damage was so incredible. This is going to be a real heart-wrenching experience for Greg I think. I can't wait for him to get home and share his stories and pictures.

We miss him so much, but are so thrilled he has this opportunity to minister to those who need him so much right now.

I'm Not a Very Consistent Blogger!!

I need to get better at this.......not that anyone really wants to read my rambling musings about my journey........but I actually like to go back and read them.

Today I so love my life! My kids rock, I live in an incredibly beautiful place......what could be better!!
