So on the way home this morning, after dropping the kids off at school, I drove by an accident. And I had an unexpected response. I was immediately the kind of sick where you have to pull the car over to throw up.

I'm still pondering why that happened. We're coming up soon on the 2 year anniversary of Tim's death. I've driven by accidents since then. I know that you never really will get over or heal from sitting in the middle of a road holding your friend's hand while he dies, but do you continue to have these kind of physical reactions?

Could it have been that Miki and I had just been on the phone together? Or that I had seen her give Gavin a piggy back ride across the field at school this morning and for a brief minute could visualize Tim doing that with him?

This stuff's a downer, I know, but something I need to process nonetheless.

Sorry you had a bad moment. Sometimes those moments are brought back into bright focus. I always use that time to ponder the lessons I learned from them.

I'm sorry...what a horrible thing for you to have gone through. Have you thought about chatting it through with a counsellor?

I suppose there are some pains that will never go away. But there are so many happy memories that go with them.
